Love and Compassion

August 7, 2022 Pastor: Dr. David Lorenz Series: Hosea

Passage: Hosea 11:1–11

If you have ever had or seen a child “get lost”, wander off, not be exactly where he or she is supposed to be, there are a range of emotions. You desperately want to find the child, but you may also be angry that he or she ran off, didn’t obey, or any number of scenarios. When the reunion happens, typically there is great relief and if our unconditional love for our child shines through in that moment, the anger and frustration take a back seat to joy and peace. Despite their rebellion, God’s relentless, unconditional love for Israel is finally on display for us in Hosea.
