Watching and Waiting

December 24, 2023 Pastor: Dr. David Lorenz Series: The Coming Savior

Passage: Luke 2:22–38

As we get older, it seems that part of the joy of Christmas is watching other people open their gifts. When we are young, we focus on ourselves and often must be told to wait for others to open their gifts. We get impatient and frustrated because we believe the day revolves around us, and we want to know if we got the latest and greatest gadget, outfit, or toy. However, as we get older, we find joy in watching our kids, grandkids, and family members open their gifts. Somehow, the chaos of opening presents brings a sense of blessing. We no longer mind waiting to open our gifts. As we celebrate the birth of Jesus this weekend, we know there was one man who waited patiently to experience the blessing of the newborn Savior.
