“Tell the truth.” “Come clean.” “Be honest.” “Give it to me straight.” Each of these phrases demands the person talking be honest and open. In a culture driven by a public persona and feelings over truth, it’s hard to know truth from fiction. The Bible makes it clear that we are to be people who stand on our word, who are honest, and who refuse to make frivolous claims about ourselves or the things we believe in. If you are going to say “yes,” mean it. Of course, we should all mean it when we say, “Happy Father’s Day,” this weekend. Dads play an important role in life, and we honor them!
