In The Great Gatsby, Jay Gatsby, sacrifices morality, identity, and love in order to gain wealth. He then uses wealth as justification for his unscrupulous behavior. After his failure, it becomes obvious that wealth alone cannot fulfill, but what is worse, is that it can act as an active participant in the destruction of our lives and relationships. True fulfillment comes as we pursue righteousness and the well-being of others.
