People vs. Pigs

This passage in Mark is one that I have read perhaps more than any other passage in the Bible. I have used it for several years in helping lay leaders learn how to “teach” narrative passages.  It is striking to read the encounter Jesus has with this demon-possessed man, but what is more striking is how the people respond after seeing the man completely transformed by the power of Jesus.  When unbelievable things happen, sometimes the response isn’t what you expect. This story proves once again that for some, things are more important than people. For others, it provides great testimony of how Jesus can change everything!!
