COVID-19 Statement | March 24, 2020

web blog post-3

Dear Church Family:

Weekly update:

On March 23, 2020, Galveston County Judge Mark Henry executed a “stay at home” order for Galveston county (First Baptist Friendswood is located in Galveston County) through Friday, April 3. As a result, the following decisions have been made:

1. Worship services for Sunday, March 29, 2020, and April 5, 2020, will be held via Facebook Live at 11:00 am. All other regularly scheduled in-person on and off-campus Bible studies, meetings, and gatherings continue to be suspended until further notice. Video meetings can be utilized.

2. Per the Galveston County order, First Baptist Church Friendswood offices will be closed beginning tomorrow, March 25, 2020, through Friday, April 3, 2020. You can still reach out to the ministerial staff via phone (281-482-7573), email, and social media. Click below for email addresses: https://www.firstbaptistfriendswood.org/about-us/staff

What are we asking you to do?

Give Blood!
Last Sunday, we hosted a blood drive that yielded 51 units! We are hosting another blood drive this Sunday, March 29, 2020, from 10 am-2 pm in the Family Life Center gymnasium. Your blood donations are essential, even as the community is asked to shelter in place. You can register in advance at www.commitforlife.org. The sponsor code is F315.

Give online.
We know these are uncertain economic times. We also know that God is faithful. We encourage you to give to God’s Kingdom online. It’s quick, easy, and secure. You can make a one-time gift, or you can even join many in our church and set up a recurring donation online. Go to https://www.firstbaptistfriendswood.org/online-giving
