The Great Wall of China is a marvelous engineering masterpiece. I’ve had the privilege of visiting it a few times. Every time I do, I am reminded that it worked for 1,000 years, but Genghis Khan, finally broke through in 1211 to defeat the Chinese. He did so through cunning military strategy and bribing Chinese soldiers. Like the Great Wall, we must be reminded often that our great efforts can sometimes create false security. May we humbly trust in the Lord.
