Big Dreams and Broken Promises

When you were young, did you ever make a promise and end with “cross my heart, hope to die”? This commitment was so powerful that you would die if you broke the promise. Despite this bold move, I am sure that thousands of children around our country occasionally failed to live up to this “unbreakable” offer… and, they survived. Too often, we overpromise and underdeliver. Yet, God has called us to a higher standard, particularly when we commit our ways to His ways. Solomon reminds us to walk with reverence, listen carefully to the Lord, and follow through on our word.
