The Hope We Have
October 6, 2024 Pastor: Dr. David Lorenz Series: Colossians: Rooted in Jesus
Passage: Colossians 1:24–29
There’s an old Rich Mullins song called Hope to Carry On. The end of the chorus states, “Love has come, And He’s given me hope to carry on.” Hope is a powerful motivator. Sometimes, our hope is fleeting – like when our not-so-great sports team is playing; other times, our hope is mildly confident – like when our children are testing for their driver’s license. Sometimes, our hope is simply seeing the light at the end of the tunnel (and it not being a train!). The Scripture, however, is clear. Because Christ lives in the believer, we have the hope of glory. Our hope is a fully confident expectation.
