Over my sabbatical, I visited a great friend who lives between Fort Davis and Marfa (google it). It’s rugged terrain and there is always something to be done. In ranching, farming, and other agricultural endeavors, it’s easy to think it’s simply about seeds, soil, and water. If it were, anyone could and would do it. However, ranch life is really about perseverance. It’s also about finding the right people to partner with you to accomplish a goal. He shared with me, “You can’t do everything, and you shouldn’t, but you must stay the course.” We have the same calling: stay on mission.
