Don’t Mess with God

You may or may not have seen any or all the Avengers movies based on Stan Lee’s comic book characters, but the word “avenge” is an interesting one. It means to “exact satisfaction for a wrong by punishing the wrongdoer.”  Put another way, it’s to inflict harm as punishment for wrongdoing. Throughout Scripture, God is described as a jealous and vengeful God. The book of Nahum puts God’s power and justice on full display for His enemies and the enemies of His people.
