Worth the Work

Passage: Proverbs 12:11, Proverbs 12:14, Colossians 3:17

On June 28, 1894, President Grover Cleveland signed a law making the first Monday of every year a holiday to celebrate the achievements of the American workforce. In the early years (even before 1894), cities held parades to celebrate carpenters, machinists and other workers who helped make our country prosper. Today, most of us celebrate with travel, cookouts and see it as the unofficial end of summer. Our labor is important, so much so, that God created us for it. May we give Him honor in all we do.
