Pleading your Case

June 9, 2019 Pastor: Dr. David Lorenz Series: Prayer

Topic: Prayer Passage: Daniel 9:3–20

None of us like to feel guilty. We want our conscience clear. Even when we are guilty, our natural tendency is to make excuses, blame others, and minimize the significance of our transgression. This is especially true when siblings are involved. Brothers and sisters are notorious for telling parents how innocent they are and how guilty their siblings are. The same is true for adults. We quickly point out how much better we are than others so that our conscience can be clear. It’s in these moments that we miss the power of God to release us from the guilt – that power comes through confession.
