The Resurrection

One of the unique privileges I had over 20 years ago was to drive west of Fort Worth on Easter Sunday morning to a small church and preach my first sermon. I had “preached” to students, taught Sunday school, and led Bible studies, but this was my first sermon in “big church.” That Easter I was excited and a little nervous, but thrilled to share the hope of Christ. I preached from Isaiah 53 and remember how many notes I had and how I tried to engage a group of teenagers on the back row by talking about substitute teachers. All these years later, this day – Resurrection Sunday, still brings great excitement for me as I get to declare Jesus is Alive! May this day bring excitement to you because He is Risen!
