Only the Essentials

Have you ever over-packed for a trip. It’s not hard to do. These days, if you travel regularly, you probably have a scale in your house to make sure your checked bag weighs 49.9 lbs. However, it is always interesting to me to come home and realize that I didn’t need 15 lbs. of those clothes and shoes. I just carried that extra weight for no reason. Sometimes we approach life the same way. We carry around all this stuff that we really don’t need and when Jesus calls us to follow Him, we struggle under the weight of “our stuff.” Let us break free of the non-essentials and follow Him!
