FBF devo blogpost

Table talk: Jesus is praying for you.

Here is a video for children: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcFw8pLBSIo

Read Mark 16:19

So then the Lord Jesus, after He had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. (ESV)

Say: Jesus’ ascension into heaven is often overlooked in its importance. The ascension assures the coming of the Holy Spirit, begins Jesus’ reign from His Heavenly throne, and reminds us that one day He will return. But Jesus is doing something for all believers this very day that is incredibly encouraging.

Read Hebrews 7:25

He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them. (ESV)

Say: Jesus is the great intercessor. His salvation goes between God and man, declaring purified by His blood those who trust in Him. But, Jesus also prays. He intercedes. According to this verse, He is always praying for His children. If you know Christ as Savior, He is praying for you. This reality explains why we pray "in Jesus' name." Not only does Jesus save you, but He also prays for you. Jesus knows your need. He is speaking to the Father right now on your behalf. Are you scared today? Jesus is praying for you. Are you tired? Jesus is praying. Are you sick? Jesus is praying. Jesus died for you. Jesus rose for you. Jesus ascended for you. And yes, Jesus is praying for you!

Pray: Jesus, thank you for hearing our prayers. We are in awe that you pray for us. You know our every need. Thank you for interceding to the Father for our good. We bless your loving and holy name. In Your name, Amen.
